Habakkuk Sponsors SSM Health St. Anthony Foundation’s Orthopedic Residency Journal Club Dinner

Habakkuk was honored to sponsor SSM Health St. Anthony Foundation’s Orthopedic Residency Journal Club dinner. It was a celebratory last club dinner as senior residents graduate next week and prep for post residency fellowships beginning shortly.

Residents presented current peer-reviewed articles with the purpose of identifying and comparing new techniques and evaluating local and national orthopedic surgery standards. These journal club meetings allow residents to express and showcase understanding of their field experiences during their residency.

In return, the dinner provides a chance for residents in attendance to learn as the Orthopedic Residency attending physicians offer their feedback and advice based on the article findings to residents.

This is a fantastic and humbling opportunity for Habakkuk team members to not only support the residents we work with daily, but to also learn from both the residents and attending physicians to help us live out excellence at the highest level.

Overall, Habakkuk members were honored to be a part of the dinner and wish all the residents a successful fellowship and career.

December 1, 2017 marks the 4 year anniversary of Habakkuk. We are completely humbled and amazed at all that has happened over the last 4 years. However, we would not be where we are today without the support from our community. So, we want to take a moment to reflect on all the incredible things we’ve achieved and say thank you to our supporters. Take a look at how we’ve grown!

Habakkuk employees recently attended the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) in Dallas, TX. The AAHKS annual meeting addresses a broad array of scientific topics such as implant design, outcomes, surgical techniques and complications of primary and revision total joint arthroplasty (TJA) for hip and knee surgeons.

One of the company’s core values is to deliver exceptional product and performance. Habakkuk demonstrates this commitment to excellence through education and innovation, both of which are provided through events like AAHKS.

Josh Rich, Habakkuk Orthopedic Sales Representative said, “AAKHS was an incredible experience and a great opportunity to be exposed to innovative and exceptional products. I’m excited to utilize this knowledge to better serve the orthopedic community of Oklahoma.”

Habakkuk champion, Dr. Corey Ponder, orthopedic surgeon at St. Anthony’s Bone and Joint Hospital, recently completed his 2,222 OMNIBotics® robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery on Sept. 25. The first orthopedic surgeon in Oklahoma to utilize OMNIBotics® technology, Dr. Ponder’s milestone contributes to OMNIlife science™, Inc.’s 17,000 total procedures.

The OMNIBotics® technology allows Dr. Ponder a variety of advantages including intraoperative flexibility, ultra-fine precision, patient specific planning and confirmation of proposed corrections. The patient, suffering from severe pain and difficulty standing and walking, benefitted greatly from the total knee replacement.

“The advanced technology of OMNIBotics® provides me the tool to perform knee replacements with patient-specific accuracy and precision. The platform allows for maximal efficiency and flexibility to restore joint alignment and kinematics and achieve successful surgical outcomes. Combined with the industry leading service and wisdom provided by the team at Habakkuk, the future of robotically-assisted joint replacement is more promising than ever,” says Dr. Ponder.

OMNIlife Science™ Inc. explains that the OMNIBotics’® system enables optimized implant placement using robotics driven by OMNI’s proprietary ART™ software. This equipment gives surgeons the ability to efficiently plan a specific procedure for each individual patient using a patented intra-operative 3-D modeling technique that no longer requires preoperative CT scans or x-rays. Therefore, resulting in a more precise alignment of the knee implant that many surgeons believe can lead to more rapid recovery and a more natural feeling knee replacement.

Habakkuk’s Founder and CEO, Clay Steves, is proud to partner with some of the best surgeons in the region and provide them with quality technology.

Dr. Knutson performed his 200th Robotic Assisted Total Knee replacement surgery this week using the OMNIBotics platform. The picture shows Dr. Knutson (left) and his PA Beau Burton (right) standing with ‘Sheldon’ the OMNIBotics station that Dr. Knutson uses in the operating room. Dr. Knutson knows that all of his patients have a unique knee anatomy. He believes in the patented OMNIBotics Bone Morphing technology that generates a unique 3D digital model of his patient’s knee in the surgery, with a high level of accuracy and precision. Using this technology eliminates the need for any pre-operative imaging such as CT scans or MRIs, reducing the risk of radiation exposure.

The chilly April morning didn’t stop the crowd of people at the start line supporting Cody’s Run for Esophageal Cancer.

This year our Habakkuk Family was at the run in full spirit, bringing along spouses and children. Cody’s Run is near to our hearts, as we participate in support of one of our surgeons whose brother lost his fight with Esophageal Cancer in 2013.

Cody’s Run is a 5K dedicated to helping the Stephenson Cancer Center and Oklahoma Cancer Patients. All proceeds from the run go directly to the Cody Ponder Emergency Endowment Fund.

Habakkuk is proud to show our support!
